Unity in Racial Justice
The union of BLM Seacoast, BLM Manchester, and BLM Nashua in September 2023 heralded a historic milestone in the pursuit of equity and racial justice throughout New Hampshire.
This union harmonized a mosaic of voices, experiences, and viewpoints, amplifying the notion that the quest for racial justice transcends conventional borders.
By synergizing their unique strengths, these organizations within the Black Lives Matter Movement forged a more formidable and cohesive entity, poised to tackle the urgent challenges confronting Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities across New Hampshire.
Our Mission
We advance the liberation and wellbeing of Black people; Black and Brown regardless of country of origin; in NH by cultivating safety, belonging, and collective power through advocacy, education, organizing, and community-centered care, while holding systems accountable.
Our Vision
To create an equitable and inclusive New Hampshire where Black lives are valued, empowered, and supported to thrive.
Our Goals
Build Power in Community: Strengthen the leadership, voice, and agency of Black residents across New Hampshire by creating spaces for education, connection, healing, and collective action.
Advance Racial Justice: Challenge racism and inequity in our institutions, policies, and communities; including promoting health equity and reducing maternal health disparities for people of color; while advocating for meaningful change that protects and uplifts Black lives.
Cultivate Belonging & Safety: Create environments; both virtual and in person; where Black community members feel seen, valued, and supported in their full humanity.
Support Youth & Future Leaders: Invest in the next generation through mentorship, youth programming, and opportunities that foster confidence, identity, and empowerment.
Strengthen Partnerships: Collaborate with local organizations, grassroots leaders, and statewide partners to build a more just, informed, and united New Hampshire.
Celebrate Culture & Identity: Honor Black history, creativity, and culture as essential to the fabric of our state, uplifting the stories and experiences that too often go unheard.
