Youth Outreach Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Youth Outreach Coordinator at Black Lives Matter New Hampshire (BLM NH) plays a pivotal role in engaging and mobilizing young people in the fight against racial injustice. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to connect with youth communities, fostering collaboration, and empowering young activists to become effective advocates for social change. The Youth Outreach Coordinator will work closely with BLM NH leadership, volunteers, and community partners to ensure that youth voices are heard and amplified within the broader movement for racial equity.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement outreach strategies to effectively engage youth communities across New Hampshire.
Organize and facilitate youth-focused events, workshops, and activities aimed at raising awareness about racial injustice and promoting activism.
Establish and maintain partnerships with schools, colleges, youth organizations, and community groups to expand BLM NH's reach among young people.
Provide resources, training, and support to youth activists to develop their leadership skills and advocacy capabilities.
Collaborate with BLM NH's communications team to create youth-oriented content for social media, newsletters, and other platforms.
Coordinate with other BLM NH teams to integrate youth perspectives into the organization's campaigns, initiatives, and advocacy efforts.
Act as a liaison between youth activists and BLM NH leadership, ensuring that their voices, concerns, and ideas are heard and addressed.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of youth outreach activities, and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data.
Stay informed about relevant issues, trends, and developments related to youth engagement, racial justice, and social activism.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated commitment to racial justice and the goals of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds, preferably in community organizing, education, or advocacy roles.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young people.
Excellent organizational abilities, including the capacity to plan and coordinate events and initiatives.
Knowledge of social media platforms and digital communication tools, with proficiency in content creation and management.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and navigate complex issues with sensitivity and empathy.
Familiarity with the political and social landscape of New Hampshire is desirable but not required.

This position is a stipend position of $300 a month based on the availability of grant or donated funds.
